Svolværgeita, or ‘the goat’ as it’s locally known, sits high above the city of Svolvær. It is one of the most iconic rock formations in Lofoten and Norway.
Climbing this peak should definitely be on your list of things to do while in Lofoten. The climb consists of two pitches (sections). It’s steep, but with very good handholds. No prior climbing experience is necessary to join our guided trips.
The view from the top is simply stunning; mountains, sea – all in different moods and colours.
The first ascent of this iconic peak was done in 1910 by a team of young climbers from Oslo. Hemp ropes, hobnail shoes and woollen knickers have luckily been replaced by modern, safe climbing equipment so that you can enjoy a safe climb.
Join us this summer for a truly unforgettable climb.
